Isolation_ Copper, Brass_ 4in X 5.25in X 1.25in_Fall 2014
This piece was created as a representation of an adolescent’s mind that struggles with depression. The size of the brain is accurate to an average young teen, one who is beginning puberty where signs of depression often begin to develop. Depression in adolescents can be difficult to understand and approach, for both the child and their loved ones. Sometimes this lack of understanding can leave the child feeling isolated and misunderstood, furthering the negative symptoms of the disorder.
